Dairy Factory Wastewater Treatment Plant

Biological treatment processes with membrane filtration

The Olam Dairy Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) receives process wastewater from the Olam Dairy factory in Tokoroa. Wastewater is pumped from the balance tanks to the DAF tank, for removal of fats, oils, and grease from the wastewater stream prior to the biological treatment process.
The membrane bioreactor combines conventional biological treatment processes with membrane filtration to provide an advanced level of nutrient and suspended solids removal.
The plant was designed and built by Apex Water with our Kinetic Electrical East Tamaki team completing the electrical design and install.
